KOMI BEACH, CHIOS ISLAND, GREECE - In the early morning hours of July 28, 2018, an inflatable boat carrying 40 people landed on Komi Beach on Chios Island, Greece. The passengers were met by the Greek police, who are responsible for screening and transporting the individuals to the Vial Refugee Camp on the island. Humanitarian relief was provided by Chios Eastern Shore Response Team (CESRT), which provided food, water, dry clothing and comfort items. Medical relief was provided by Salvamento Marítimo Humanitario (SMH).
