The F/A-18C Hornet is a twin-engine supersonic, all-weather carrier-capable multirole combat jet, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of several other nations and, since 1986, by the US Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.

The Gutenberg Bible, which was printed in Mainz circa 1455-1456 and was the first substantial book to be printed from moveable types in Europe. Forty-nine copies of the estimated 158 or 180 printed survive. The Scheide copy, housed in Princeton University's Scheide Library, printed on paper, originally was sold in the university town of Erfurt, where it was finely illuminated and bound. Its first owner probably was the Dominican convent in Erfurt where the Bible remained until 1873, when it was brought to the United States by collector George Brinley. The invoice from London book dealer Henry Stevens advised Brinley's New York agents to "let none of Uncle Samuel's Custom House OfficialsÖsee it without first reverentially lifting their hats." John Scheide acquired the Bible in 1924.

StorageTek Automated Cartridge System

The StorageTek Automated Cartridge System (ACS) was first introduced in 1988. The library holds up to 6,000 cartridges, each capable of 200 megabytes of storage for a total capacity of 300 terabytes. The ACS's robot retrieval unit is capable of 360 cartridge changes per hour.

BALAUR - Brody Active Learning and Usability Research Wall

The Brody Active Learning and Usability Research wall (BALAUR) is a collaboration between Johns Hopkins University Department of Computer Science and the Digital Research and Curation Center of the Sheridan Libraries. The goal of the wall is to build a framework where education and research applications can quickly be developed and deployed on a large-scare display. Currently, the wall contains an image gallery from several digital library collections, Hubble astronomy images and an interactive game, Kine Ball Run, to illustrate its capabilities. The desktop is an ambient app, ImageStorm, which is activated when the user comes within range of the Microsoft Kinect. The wall is activated by gestures detected by the Microsoft Kinect at the top of the wall, which recognizes joints, such as a user's elbows and wrists.
